Let it be known – 21 July, or better referred to as National Lamington Day, is today! And name a better way to kick off the sweet day than with iconic and local bakery, Kytons’ bouncy lamingtons. But it doesn’t end there; non-for-profit organisation, KickStart for Kids, are teaming up with Kytons to host a lamington drive in a bid to raise funds for disadvantaged school children.
Kytons will be supporting KickStart for Kids by donating profits from every packet of lamingtons sold towards the charity’s funds, in order to purchase products for their: school breakfast and lunch programs, Camp KickStart initiative, as well as sanitary items as part of their KickStart for Kids Against Period Poverty campaign.
South Australian businesses, students, and teachers are welcome to participate in the fundraiser and it’s super easy to book in – just contact Kytons and they’ll sort you out with the fundraising package. Speaking of, said package includes lamingtons with the likes of: choc-coffee, choc-raspberry, traditional or mini lamingtons. Trust – they make for the perfect snack to satisfy that sweet tooth of yours.
Kytons owner, Sharon Sutton says, “Our lamington drives are legendary in South Australia, and are so easy to run. Any school can participate, they just have to select the dates that they would like to receive products and then distribute order forms to their students and then collect the packets of lamingtons when they’re ready.”
While KickStart for Kids founder, Ian Steel shares, “Kytons have been a massive supporter of KickStart for a number of years and do amazing things in the community – their lamington drives are a prime example of this and we’re proud to get support from such a loved South Aussie brand.”
“We really hope that schools get behind this initiative and help us raise money for disadvantaged children in South Australia, and who doesn’t love a good Kytons lamington!” Ian concludes.
