For the last few weeks, a mysterious man dressed from head, shoulders, knees and toes in a white fit-out, with his now iconic white top-hat and white stretched Hummer has been sparking conversation amongst Adelaideans.
He’s been spotted all over town giving away goodies from flowers to cash, asks for nothing in return, then vanishes. It began with free white roses on Valentine’s Day, icy poles during Adelaide’s recent heatwave and last week, it was cold hard cash.
The Man In The White Suit isn’t just sticking to the cityscape either, covering a decent amount of ground during his generous pursuit. From Rundle Mall to Paradise and Port Adelaide, to Marion and Seacliff – to name a few!
Said man has been baffling the public, with people even taking to Reddit and other online publications about the man’s origin. And it has now been revealed that local radio station, Mix102.3 is behind the kind tomfoolery.
Head of KIIS Network, Derek Bargwanna explains, “We thought it’d be a fun idea to spread kindness and love around Adelaide, with a little mysterious twist.”
“At the end of the day it’s Adelaideans sharing love and joy. Those who interact with the man in the white suit walk away with big smiles, and more often than not, a small gift,” Derek shared.
And although much of the mystery around the Man In The White Suit remains, we can tell you that in the coming weeks, he’ll be continuing his bountiful pursuit with thousands in free cash in the mix.
With Mad March in all its glory, he is likely to make an appearance at some of Adelaide’s large-scale events, while also continuing his suburban visits.
Mix102.3 will be dropping clues on live radio about the man’s whereabouts this week, giving all that lend an ear an advantage when locating the Man In The White Suit.
So, if approached, give the polite dude in white a chance to share his lagniappe. Happy acquiring!
