2023 is fast approaching; and if you’re anything like us, you’re probably still processing 2020. With a new year, comes the obligatory New Year’s Eve celebrations. Whether you’re after discos that’ll be in full swing until the early hours, family-friendly events, festivals, or low-key dinners, we’ve put together a list of the best New Years’ Eve events in Adelaide to reel in 2023, come Saturday 31 December. Take a look, and make sure you celebrate in style!
1. Light Up 2022 – NYE In Rymill Park
Brought to us by the team behind Gluttony, the Murlawirrapurka/Rymill Park in Adelaide’s East End will be host to the family-friendly event, Light Up 2022. As well as the fireworks, there’ll be live music, a spread of entertainment across multiple stages, interactive activities, and South Australia’s most sought-after food trucks, vendors and pop-up bars.
Catch the city fireworks with two displays – one for the early birds at 9:30pm and again at midnight to start 2023 with a bang. Although Light Up 2022 is a free event, it is indeed ticketed for a limited capacity.

2. Field Trip NYE
If you’re feeling particularly energised, Field Trip NYE music festival in Bonython Park is the place to be to get your boogie on. Field Trip is Adelaide’s biggest New Year’s Eve event and they’re offering a line-up of acts with the likes of Will Sparks, Colin Hennerz, Slice n Dice, Bread Gang, Foss, Andos, Jonny K, and Class of 86. Get your dancing boots on and prepare to dance in the dirt for an earthy and festive end to 2023 in Adelaide.

3. New YEETs Eve
You heard it here first, Bowden Brewing at Plant 3 is very much yeeting 2022 out the window with their New YEETs Eve party with a purple theme. They’re bringing a 70s lounge vibe with a groovy new selection of their tasty Yeet Juice with the likes of an Imperial Sparkling Yeet, a Nitro Yeet, Yeet slushies, Yeet sorbet, and Yeet icy poles.
Live music is on the cards, as is a funky DJ set, glitter artists to douse yourself in even more purple, and prizes up for grabs for the most purple fit. Masa kitchen will be serving the tantalising Mexican cuisine to keep your energy levels at an all-time high, and your ticket includes two Yeet tokens to be used at the bar – cheers to that.

4. NYE At Sol Rooftop
The recently-ish opened Sol Rooftop at SkyCity is a tip-top spot to catch the final sunset of 2022 over Adelaide. Situated on the ninth floor, the al fresco location will be providing live music by Emerson Alexander from The Voice, with a party to boot with live DJs and a four-hour drink and canape package from 8pm until midnight’s strike.
Expect to see live stations like the dessert table, oyster bar, and the charcuterie grazing table, while canapes you can indulge in include: kangaroo skewers with saltbush dukkha, chorizo croquettes with romesco sauce, tea smoked duck with pistachio cream and sponge, eggplant katsu burgers with dashi mayonnaise and herb slaw, and spicy tofu bao buns – to name a few of the 19 delights. It’s going to be a tasty affair.

5. Golden Gaytime NYE
One of Adelaide’s most vibrant clubs, Mary’s Poppin will be hosting their Golden Gaytime New Year’s Eve party featuring Vanessa Vanjie Mateo from Rupaul’s Drag Race. The venue is going to dripping in gold, and dressing in glitter, sparkles and dazzling gold is certainly encouraged. There’s going to be spicy performances all night from the Mary’s Diva’s, alongside a showstopper from diva, Vanjie. There’s even VIP tickets up for grabs to meet and greet the Rupaul legend.

6. Latino NYE Party
Hindmarsh’s iconic entertainment venue and old-school pub, The Gov will be saying ‘cya later’ to 2022 with their Latino NYE Party with a Miami flare. There’ll be non-stop dancing and entertainment from La Bomba with a line-up which sees Sabor a Cuba Band, Samba Showgirls, Dj Senorita, and of course the La Bomba Latin Dance Crew with their warm-up dance classes, Limbo, Pinata prizes and plenty more. Comes in your finest tropical/neon get-up and party your way into 2023 with Latino NYE Party.

7. NOLA’s Old Fashion New Year’s Eve
If you’re in the mood for a boppin’, old-timey soiree, then NOLA’s Old Fashion New Year’s Eve is the place to be. The small-ish bar in Adelaide’s East End will take you on a journey back to the 1920s with a line-up of jazz to really get you in the groove. Your ticket includes entry into the exclusive party as well as four tokens to cash in at the bar for either two cocktails of four standards. Dress in your dapper 20s outfit, and pop outside at midnight to see the fireworks that’ll be popping off at Light Up 2022 accross the road.

8. St Francis Winery NYE Dinner & Outdoor Cinema
St Francis Winery just a short drive south in Old Reynella will be putting on a family-friendly New Year’s Eve with the Dinner & Outdoor Cinema event. The outdoor cinema will be screening Zootopia – an interesting watch for everyone from the comfort of your own chair or rug. And what’s a movie without popcorn, drinks and lollies? They’ll all be available for purchase on the night, so BYO is a no go for this event. The night will be rounded out with a sparkler finale for the kids, wrapping up 2022 just nicely.

9. New Year’s Eve Masquerade Gala
Head on down to the seaside locale for the Stamford Grand’s infamous New Year’s Eve Masquerade Gala. Not only is it a great spot to catch the Glenelg fireworks display, but it’s going to provide a fabulous array of food utilising fresh South Australian produce, a five-hour beverage package and a great line-up live entertainment.

10. NYE Balcony Party With Friends
The iconic Stag Public House on the corner of Rundle Street and East Terrace is hosting an exclusive balcony party to reel in the new year. The decked-out balcony, overlooking the parklands will see live acoustic sets from plenty of local artist, and as the night goes on, Endless Grooves will providing the very cool tunes with DJ sets back-to-back.
Alpha Box and Dice are bringing the grape juice to keep the party rolling, while a $30 ticket will get you an Aperol Spritz on arrival, and a $180 ticket will get you and five mates in along with a bottle of bubbles on arrival. But make sure you’re there for a good view of the fireworks at both 9:30pm and 12am.

11. New Year’s Eve with The Bandits
If good food and a good time are both up your alley, then New Year’s Eve with The Bandits, Anchovy Bandit that is, is the one for you. The new-ish eatery has built up a bit of a cult following as of late, and they’re celebrating with a four-course dinner soiree.
There’ll be bubbles on arrival, a DJ to get you moving your feet, and a swanky new cocktail list to sip on throughout the night. If you’re a bit of an early bird and like to be in bed by 10pm, book in for the two-hour early sitting; but if you’re ready to see off 2022 until the crack of midnight, then the late sittings party is the one for you.
