In celebration of the 2022 South Australian Graduates of the non-for-profit, Ocean Watch‘s Master Fisherman programme; the slick, and new-ish, Adelaide Central Market seafood bar, SiSea is joining forces with a couple of the graduates to bring you two fishy feasts.
From Friday 26 August until Friday 9 September, you can get your hands on either the wild caught Coorong mullet in a classic crumbed fish ’n’ chips-style dish by Master Fisherman, Garry Hera-Singh; or the wild caught Port Broughton blue swimmer crab in a Singapore-style sauce with chilli, lemongrass and turmeric by Master Fisherman, Adam Barnes.
Across the two-week span, the seafood will be delivered directly from the fishermen to the venue – it doesn’t get much fresher than that. Not only will the nibbles be an experience in itself, but dining at SiSea amidst the Central Market hustle and bustle is a truly unique sensation.
The seafood tapas bar offers high-chair seating which wraps around their market stall. Wine, coffee, and cocktails are all on the cards – it’s a place for any occasion, whether it be a casual lunch where you can get your hands a bit icky, or a formal dinner where knifes and forks are the go.
While you await your feast or whilst you dine, scan the QR code on the menu to meet the fishermen, and check out how and where they caught the seafood – knowing where your food comes from is a powerful privilege; you might learn something, you might feel something, who knows!
The Master Fisherman Program is an industry training program designed to improve and recognise individual fishermen’s knowledge, experience and environmental performance. With 60 graduates from the 2022 programme, there are now over 240 certified Master Fishermen operating across a range of artisanal, in-shore fisheries nationally.
