Perched high on the mighty Adelaide Hills’ leafy town of Stirling, Barrel has made its debut as the new go-to neighbourhood wine bar with a flare.
Easily accessible from the main drag, you can dine al fresco or cosy up on a plush booth within the stone walls and earthy interior of Barrel.
Offering a lengthy list of local and international tipple, you can find five pages of wines by the glass and bottle, and a singular page of fine cocktails, beers, cider, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Think: Vermentino from McLaren Vale, Pinot Noir from the Adelaide Hills, Grenache from the Barossa Valley, as well as bottles all the way from Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, and New Zealand.
As for the food pairings, Barrel provides a condensed menu of fare sourced nearby with the likes of: chicken liver parfait with bread and pickles; Kingfish crudo; charcuterie and cheese boards; amongst the selections.
Not quite a cafe, not quite a restaurant, the refurbished, cottage-esque small bar is worth an inspection – take a look.
Barrell is open on Thursdays from 3pm ’til late, and Fridays through to Sundays from midday ’til late.
