Fire and food, what a combo – especially in this dreary weather we are having here in Adelaide. Luckily, that combination is coming to fruition thanks to the Fire And Food Truck Carnivale, held across the entire three days of this coming weekend. The fire will heat you up from the outside, while the food will warm you up from the inside.
On Friday 12, Saturday 13, and Sunday 14 August, gather your crew, your family, or just yourself, and mosey on over to Wigley Reserve which will be host to the three-day extravaganza; situated right next to the picturesque Holdfast Shores Marina.
The the said fire will span from fire dancers, fire shows, fire acrobats, and fire magicians – some will rove, some will be at scheduled times and specific locations within the park. Expect to see fire eating, high energy mysticism that will have you in a trance, daring performances that will clinging on to your seat.
But if you’re into something a little more low key, then sitting by the scattered fire pits and gazing into the flames whilst absorbing the live music is also on the cards. As well as heart-thumping carnival rides, and a kids ice rink – a fire escape, if you will.
The Fire And Food Truck Carnivale will also see a fully licensed bar and twenty of Adelaide’s most satisfying food trucks including: TaCHS Stroopwafels, Lukoumades, Miss Dagwood Dog Adelaide, Hot Potato Hot Potato, Slush Happy, Enfes Delight, Colombo Express Crepe Bar, Pass The Dutchie, Yiros Hub, RG, Oranaise, Bubble Me Tea, Shaka Shavings, The Roaming Grill Tuckerbox, Almos Kebab, S’S Deli, Squid Squad, and Simply Flammekueche. And not to worry vegans and coeliac friends; the food trucks will be catering for you too!
The Fire And Food Truck Carnivale runs from Friday 12 between 4pm and 10pm, Saturday 13 between 12pm and 10pm, and Sunday 14 between 12pm and 9pm. So pack your tables, chairs and rugs into the car and brace yourself for a mesmerising, heated weekend by the bay.
