There’s a reason why Adelaidians have coined the term ‘west is best’, referring to the greatness that are the western suburbs of Adelaide; the inner ‘burbs in particular. They’re close to the city and just a short distance the beach, and not to mention home to a bunch of breweries and distilleries. This weekend is your chance to see what the west’s drinking houses are all about, with the first and probably annual, West Fest 2022.
On Saturday 17 September from midday until late, beer lovers from all walks of Radelaide are called upon to ‘beer hop’ between three breweries in the west; Bowden Brewing, Big Shed Brewing Co, and Shapeshifter Brewing Co.
As these participating venues aren’t in walking distance to each other, the fest is making it dead easy for you to get between Bowden, Royal Park, and Findon, with their free hop-on hop-off buses which depart every half hour and loop between each brewery, all day. No tipsy wobbles down the road in sight, no siree!
Expect to sip on over 50 craft beers from the tap, and be the first to try the exclusive West Fest beer collaboration which will be available on tap and for takeaway on the day only! Plus there’ll be a limited beer release from each brewery which really would be a shame to miss out on.
And what’s a day on the beers without something tasty as all heck to gobble down? You’ll have full access to the foods of Pearla Tuck Shop at Shapeshifter, 1kg schnitzels at Big Shed, and Masa Kitchen at Bowden Brewing.
And again, what’s a day on the beers without some funky tunes to feed your ears? Not to worry, there’s an all day live music program at the ready!
If beer is you’re thing, what’s the worst that could happen here? You get to drink mighty fine beers and have a completely chilled Saturday all while experiencing an inaugural Adelaide festival – damn. See ya at West Fest 2022!
