We South Aussies love a good beer – we’ll go near and we’ll go far if the jugs of gold are top-tier. And things are looking up for us beer-lovers as the multi-award winning Vale Brewing’s long-awaited Taphouse has officially opened its doors atop Mclaren Flat at Beresford Estate.
McLaren Vale has long been known for its world-class wines, and now beer is flowing from the state-of-the-art facility which boasts a microbrewery led by head brewer, Jeff Wright, a 200 person capacity with 14 taps of Vale Brewing favourites, as well as Fox Hat and Three Oaks Cider also on pour.
The opening of Vale Taphouse comes after a hefty slew of award wins in 2022 where the brewery won their crowd favourite Vale Tropic Ale the title of Word’s Best Pale Beer against thousands of competitor entries.

It ain’t all beer though – the beverages are accompanied by exceptional dining, and not to mention some of the best views in the southern McLaren Vale region.
The next-level fare is curated by executive chef, John Rankin and is inspired by tradition with a modern flare. With over 20 years in the hospitality business, John has refined his craft around the globe working in hatted and award winning venues in Singapore, the UK and Sydney. But for the past six years, John found himself working alongside Chef Sean Connolly at the esteemed Sean’s Kitchen on Adelaide’s North Terrace.

John says, “I look forward to bringing my new recipes to life and creating a unique and memorable experience for McLaren Vale.”
While Group Head of Marketing, Chris Illamn shares, “There’s no better spot to enjoy our award-winning beer than the very place it’s brewed.”
If you like beer, you’ll like Vale Brewing Taphouse, there’s no denying. Get your road trip cap on and round up your pals for a picturesque day douth (down south).
