All aboard Express.
Pulling into the Adelaide Showgrounds this February for four nights and eight spectacular shows, Express is a night of dance, song and burlesque set on a vintage steam train.
Organised by The Australian Company of Performing Arts’ newest initiative One Eye Open, which aims to produce theatre, shows and events at a professional level stacked with locally-based performers, Express is also delivered by a team of local producers intent on keeping the arts alive in South Australia.
Manager Pep Rigano says, ‘The arts are an integral part of society. When times got tough during lockdown, we saw people turn to art as a source of comfort and escapism. But artists can’t create art without support and encouragement, so we’re trying to do all we can to ensure that they’re able to continue practicing their craft during these difficult times.’ Express was created and developed in response to this initiative.
The performance is in part interactive and dabbles in tap, hip hop, jazz and cabaret to wow audiences. Featuring six dancers performing a live burlesque show, three female lead singers and a cast of twisted personalities onboard, this show will dazzle and delight.
It’s a little bit naughty and it’s a little bit nice. You might even go twice to help you decide.
Express will take place at the Adelaide Showgrounds from 4 February to 7 February. Get your tickets here.
