Over the years, Groovin’ The Moo or GTM, has become a music festival staple in Adelaide. It’s a central soiree where swarms of youth and mainly young adults gather with one common goal – to enjoy some good tunes in a melting pot of locals.
The annual event tours six Australian states, and here, it’s held at the Adelaide Showgrounds in Wayville where Friday 21 April 2023 is the lucky day.
Throughout the day and into the dark of night (that’s 11am until 10:30pm), 26 headline artists will take to the stages across the Showgrounds’ paddock, along with 14 up-and-coming South Australian acts, dubbed ‘Fresh Produce’.
As you wander around the grounds and take in the sounds, you’re bound to run into a group of high school friends or foes. But that’s just part of the GTM fun in Adelaide – everyone knows everyone!
Amidst the mingling, reenergising is in order, and there’ll be plenty of Adelaide’s famed food trucks parked up to feed your hungry mouths. But you’re also welcome to pack your own lunch, as long as it fits into your backpack nicely. Elite tactic for avoiding the lines!
Your browsing needs will be satisfied too with market stalls by local creatives showcasing their bits and bobs, whether that be practical (but very cool) sunglasses and hats, or handmade jewellery, or vintage wear if you’re feelin’ an outfit change or an extra layer.
