You’ve had sushi, you’ve had tacos, but have you tried a sushi taco before? Well now is your chance; from Wednesday 17 until Sunday 21 August, one of Adelaide’s iconic Japanese restaurants, Hanamura will be slinging their genius creations in Rundle Mall.
The said sushi tacos will be dished out from a pop-up shipping container-style stall, following a recent rebranding for Hanamura Modbury, formerly the beloved Sushi Planet.
The promotion sees the fusion of classic sushi flavours encase in a deep-fried, seaweed, taco shaped shell with fillings composed of: prawn avocado, spicy lobster, vegetarian goodies, and tuna – amongst the flavours on offer. Topped with micro herbs, cute edible flowers, and a careful drizzling of sauces; the sushi tacos really do give you that enticing side-eye.
And it’s not just sushi tacos on the menu, Hanamura favourites are up for grabs including their breaded chicken and pork skewers, vibrant refreshing drinks, and lotus chips.
The pop-up lies right next to H&M underneath the Gawler Place Canopy, and provides a number of picnic benches to enjoy your lunch around for a satisfying, but unusual mall experience.
You can find Hanamura’s permanent locations in Norwood and Modbury, so you can still indulge in their Japanese cuisine once the pop-up concludes on Sunday 21 August. Is it appalling, or is it brilliant? You be the judge!
