The Barns Of Freeling is an event hire space on a crop farm turned sunflower field, nestled in the beautiful Barossa Valley.
And thanks to all the rain we’ve copped this summer, two and a half acres of bright sunflowers have bloomed on the farm since the beginning of the year. Luckily for us, we can now visit for photos in the field and pick our own sunflowers.
Entry to the farm is free, but if you’d like to pick your own sunflowers, all the owners of the farm ask is that you put a gold coin donation into the honesty box provided for every sunflower you pick.
The owners of Barns Of Freeling will then donate all the sunflower proceeds to KCNT1 Epilepsy Foundation which is a non-for-profit with a mission to accelerate research and drug development efforts focused on finding a cure for KCNT1-related epilepsy.
So not only will your wander in the field be full of awesome Insta-worthy snaps and flowers to take home, but you’ll also be supporting a good cause while you’re at it.
While 99 per cent of all of the sunflowers have already been snapped up, The Barns Of Freeling say that there are more on the way! However it is most definitely advised to check their Instagram page for updates about sunflower scarcity and/or availability.
It’s predicted that the sunflowers will be standing upright until the end of February – but have a suss of Barns Of Freeling’s information guide here for all the deets.
