Fleetwood Mac has found new fans thanks to a dude skating to work, drinking cranberry juice and singing along to “Dreams” on TikTok. Now, their best of will be given the Candlelight treatment at The Grand Lodge—Adelaide’s historic Freemason building on North Terrace.
It’s a night not to be missed for fans both new and old where pianist Janice Tan and cellist Joseph Freer will combine their talents to enchant audiences basking in the flickering light of hundreds of candles.
Don’t miss out on the chance to sing along to “Dreams” and more on Friday 12 August.
Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours is often listed as one of the greatest albums of all time and the hit single “Dreams” was just that, a hit single that propelled the band’s fame even further.
Forty-odd years after its release, though, you can experience a brilliant performance surrounded by glowing candles where melodies will soar through the air and fill the room. Songs from the “culturally, historically, or artistically significant” dubbed album Rumours include the US number-one hit “Dreams” as well as “The Chain”, “Go Your Own Way”, “You Make Loving Fun”, “Don’t Stop” and “Never Going Back Again”.
Other songs by Fleetwood Mac to feature in the 60-65 minute illuminated performance include the ultra-singable “Everywhere”, the Stevie Nicks’ signature tune “Rhiannon”, the emotional “Landslide” and the love song “Say You Love Me” as well as a few others that will certainly wind back the clock and have you lip-syncing just like Nathan Apodaca—Fleetwood Mac’s viral-hit sensation.
Candlelight: Best of Fleetwood Mac takes place on Friday 12 August in the Grand Lodge of the Freemason’s Hall in Adelaide, one of the city’s oldest and most iconic buildings. It’s inter-war, free classical style was a move away from the traditional British freemasonry design towards a more American form—electic and popular in the 1920s. Even still, the building combines the three ancient orders of architecture: Doric, Ionic and Corinthian.
There is only one performance at 6:30pm, so Candlelight guests “can go (their) own way” after the spellbinding performance for dinner and drinks in the city. Make your dreams come true. Tickets from $29.
