It’s all happening down at Glenelg this summer – from the New Year’s Eve at the Bay fireworks display to the European-esque Moseley Beach Club on the sandy beach, and new tasty openings like Ebisu Sushi with their sushi tacos. Adding to that exciting line-up come January 2023 is an exciting soiree dedicated to the one and only, melty and frosty dessert – the Glenelg Ice Cream Festival.
Returning for its second year, the totally sweet festival is hitting the Jetty Road for an epic street party which will feature a dedicated cream ice cream zone that will include a variety of stalls from vendors such as Barossa Valley Ice Cream Co, Freeze n Roll, Golden North, and plenty more – it’s an ice dream.
As well as the sticky offerings, the one-day festival will have kids’ entertainment, including face painting and craft activities, live entertainment and music, plus fashion parades that will be held on Chapel Plaza which will showcase the latest and greatest summer collections from several of Jetty Road’s retailers.
Jetty Road will also be enlivened by its traders; taking to the street where they’ll be serving up their delish food and drinks, other than ice cream, for those who aren’t much of a sweet tooth. Catch Beach Burrito, Fourth, and The Jetty Bar behind the tools, along with a special appearance from Threefold Distilling and Adelaide’s new Bar Riot to name a few.
City of Holdfast Bay Mayor, Amanda Wilson says, “We are thrilled to bring the Glenelg Ice Cream Festival back for its second year as it embodies the best parts of summer – a balmy evening spent by the beach with an ice cream in hand.”
“Last year we had almost 30,000 attendees at the festival and in 2023 we’re expecting even more. It is the perfect excuse to head out on a summer’s evening with friends and family, enjoy the food and drinks that are on offer, and of course, indulge in a delicious ice cream,” Amanda shares.
The Glenelg Ice Cream Festival will run between 4pm and 11pm on Saturday 14 January 2023. We all scream for ice cream, you know the drill.
