The winter months just got a whole lot hotter – not just with the second installment of Illuminate Adelaide, but with the brand-new Glenelg Winter Arts Festival.
Brought to us by the one and only Gluttony – the Adelaide Fringe’s biggest venue – the new festival is set to welcome some of Australia’s top comedians to the Bay, as well as a number of Fringe favourites taking to the stage with brand-new music, magic, circus, and cabaret shows.
Colley Reserve will be the hotspot come Thursday 6 through to Sunday 23 July, and a big ol’ heated tent, dubbed The May Wirth, will keep your mitts toasty for some prime entertainment enjoyment – from ticketed shows and fun workshops.
Glenelg Winter Arts Festival goers won’t go hungry either, with a range of food vendors on the tools, and two bars serving up hot drinks and winter tipple to soothe the soul. Fingers crossed for some mulled wine!
Cosy up whilst listening to live acoustic music on the weekends, along with a beaut marketplace up to satisfy your browsing needs.
The inaugural festival’s highlights are pretty decent, to say the least, and includes: stand-up comedy by Rove McManus and Mel Buttle, circus production by Peek (from the creator of Rouge and Shake It), live music by Rachel Vidoni (The Beatles Rock Show), plus interactive adults-only and family-friendly shows – to name a few!
The Glenelg Winter Arts Festival’s program is vast, so best have a suss of the full program and relive Adelaide Fringe moments this winter.
