We’ve all heard of the hot chocolate, but have you ever heard of the hot Biscoff? If you’re not familiar with such things, the Royal Copenhagen in Semaphore has just released the ingenious drink that is the hot Biscoff.
Perhaps you’re not familiar with the current Biscoff craze at all – allow us to explain.
In 1932 a Belgian baker called Jan Boone Sr., creates a cookie and dubs it the Lotus Biscoff – named after the lotus flower that symbolises purity. ‘Tis but a perfect, caramelised biscuit that combines strong notes of brown sugar, butter and a mild spiced flavours. Fast forward exactly 90 years to 2022 where the Lotus Biscoff has evolved and emerged like a beautiful swan into a decedent spread – a spreadable cookie, if you will. It’s basically the new Nutella.
This is where the Royal Copenhagen in Semaphore come into the story, taking the evolution of Biscoff to new heights with their hot Biscoff, made with Biscoff spread. The infamous ice creamery are offering the sweet drink as a winter special – so no matter the weather, you can still enjoy the beachside with their heart and hand-warming beverage.
As an added bonus, Biscoff cookies and spread are inherently animal-free, so vegans will certifiably be able to indulge in the hot Biscoff by opting for an alternative milk and subtracting the white chocolate rim around the mug.
Royal Copenhagen Semaphore reveal that, “Our Biscoff ice cream which also happens to be vegan, inspired the idea. We have made that since the Biscoff trend started and it has been such a popular flavour.”
“We have a few different flavoured hot chocolates too – peanut butter, Nutella and mint, so we thought having a hot Biscoff would go nicely in the mix,” they continue.
So what are you waiting for – get ya mitts on one of these divine creation.
