Gone are the days of buying online or venturing to Melbourne to a piece of UNIQLO’s fine apparel. Adelaide, and South Australia for that matter, is getting its very own UNIQLO store and it’s setting up shop in the city’s prime retail precinct, Rundle Mall.
Come Thursday 24 November, the Japanese global apparel retailer will open its permanent home inside the Myer Centre. Spanning over 900 square metres, UNIQLO Adelaide will stock their full line-up of clothing for adults, kids and babies – fashionistas rejoice.
Lord only knows that there’s going to be a plethora of garments in need of trying, and luckily there’ll be a generous 11 fitting rooms to complete that side quest, along with five self check-out machines to finish off the job.
UNIQLO Adelaide will officially open at 10am, following an all-mighty ribbon cutting ceremony and a Japanese taiko drumming celebration. And to keep the good times rolling, UNIQLO are offering up free Japanese cheesecakes with yuzu curd created by South Australian Master Chef legend, Callum Hann, and a free gift bag to the first 1,000 shoppers who spend $100 or more.
Chief Operating Officer for UNIQLO Australia, Kensuke Suwa says the team have been working hard over the past few weeks to get the store ready for opening. “After receiving great demand and support from South Australians, we’re very excited to be opening our first-ever store in Adelaide, making this UNIQLO’s 30th store in Australia since the brand arrived in 2014.
“The UNIQLO Adelaide store team are looking forward to meeting locals, providing world-class customer service and helping them with our iconic LifeWear products – simple, high-quality, everyday clothing thought through with life’s needs in mind, and accessible for everyone,” Kensuke shares.
UNIQLO Adelaide’s new store is situated inside the Myer Centre, shop 101-107 Rundle Mall, but permanent opening hours are yet to be announced. See you there for some clothing and some cheesecake!
