South Australia (SA) is home to many a wine region, both near and far from Adelaide city. Getting out to such locations can be a bit of a mission, but no need to ark up – the Arkaba Hotel will be host to the annual SA Wine Showcase on Sunday 28 August.
Wine lovers will be able to sample from more than two hundred of SA’s finest wines at the Arkaba’s convenient locale in Fullarton, for an afternoon worthy of the term ‘extravaganza’.
The one-day affair will see drops from McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Coonawarra, Riverland, Limestone Coast, and Langhorne Creek – you’d need to take a week or so off of work to visit all of these spots!
There are simply too many labels to name, although a few tasty tip-offs include: Mitolo, Seppelstfield, Kilikanoon, Majella, Ricca Terra, Jip Jip Rocks, Bremerton, Thistledown, Tomich, Claymore, Koonara, and Amadio.
As you sip, you’ll be sure to develop a hankering for snacks; and what a better way to enjoy delectable wines than with a cheese pairing table, accompanied by live music – fit for the demigods.
And in true wine show style, a range of mystery prizes will also be up for grabs – all you’ve gotta do is vote for your favourite vino!
Arkaba Hotel Manager, Jordarn Karpowicz says, “Instead of visiting 49 cellar doors from far and wide across the state, we’re giving wine lovers the opportunity to sample some diverse wines right under the one roof.”
“South Australia – known as the Wine Capital of the World – is renowned for its diverse and delicious wines, which makes it a privilege to host them here.”
The SA Wine Showcase kicks off at noon and will propel you nicely through to the show’s conclusion at 4pm – perfect timing for an early dinner at one of the many scrumptious restaurants around the area. Hispanic Mechanic has you sorted for a Mexican spread, or Coccobello has you covered for an Italian feast!
