South Australia is home to many a wine region, both near and far from Adelaide city. Getting out to such locations can be a bit of a mission, but no need to ark up – the Marion Hotel will be host to the annual SA Wine Showcase on Friday 30 June.
Wine lovers will be able to sample from more than 150 of SA’s finest wines at the Marion Hotel’s convenient locale in Mitchell Park, for an afternoon worthy of the term ‘extravaganza’.
The one-day affair will see drops from McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Coonawarra, Riverland, Limestone Coast, and Langhorne Creek – you’d need to take a week or so off of work to visit all of these spots!
There are simply too many labels to name, although a few tasty tip-offs include: Beresford Estate, Hesketh Wines, Kangarilla Rd, Nepenthe Wines, Paxton Wines, Seppeltsfield Wines, and Tempus Two Wines.
As you sip, you’ll be sure to develop a hankering for snacks; and what a better way to enjoy delectable wines than with a cheese pairing table, accompanied by live music – fit for the demigods.
Traditionally held at the Arkaba, the Marion Hotel is taking the reins for the first time while the Arkaba undergoes its $10 million renovations over the next six months.
Marion Hotel General Manager, Meegan Gibbons, said, “This unique opportunity offers a range of wines to taste, so wine lovers can conveniently compare different varieties, regions and flavour profiles, all while learning the stories and complexities between each.
“South Australia produces some of the best wine in the world, and it is a privilege to bring together and celebrate these incredible wine makers right here at the Marion Hotel,”
The SA Wine Showcase kicks off at 5:30pm, perfect timing for a follow-up dinner at the Marion Hotel.
